These solid 19mm torsion bars provide a substantial increase in spring rate over the factory bars (which typically ranged from 11mm to 13mm). This diameter is a favorite for 914 owners who have performed 6-cylinder conversions (914/6) or those seeking a very firm, "track-ready" front end that virtually eliminates nose-dive under heavy braking.

⚠️ Installation & Performance Notes
System Balance: Because 19mm front bars are extremely stiff for a lightweight 914, you must upgrade your rear coil springs to maintain a neutral handling balance. Failure to do so will result in significant understeer (pushing) in corners.
Shock Damping: Standard comfort shocks will likely be insufficient for this spring rate. For the best performance, pair these with sport-valved dampers (such as Bilstein Sport or Koni) to control the increased rebound force.
Indexing: The 914 uses a spline-indexing system to set ride height. Because the 19mm bar is so stiff, even a single spline of "clocking" will result in a dramatic change in height. Document your original bar position before removal.
- Lubrication: Thoroughly clean the female splines in the A-arms and apply a generous coat of high-pressure waterproof grease during installation to prevent seizing and "creaking" noises.
