⚠️ Caution: High-Tension Energy: Torsion bars and spring plates store immense mechanical force. Never attempt to pry the spring plate off the lower chassis stop without using a dedicated spring plate unloading tool or a securely controlled heavy-duty floor jack. An unguided release of this assembly can cause catastrophic injury or severe frame damage.
❌ The 26 9/16" Bar Advantage: Utilizing a longer torsion bar coupled with a 7.810" collar allows the rear suspension to achieve a highly progressive, smoother effective spring rate. This is critical for off-road buggies where you need the suspension to stay compliant over high-speed whoops while preserving maximum wheel travel.
❌ Torsion Bar Match Verification: You must verify your torsion bar length before finalizing your chassis build. Forcing a 7.810" collar spring plate onto shorter bars (like 21 3/4" or 24 11/16") will leave the bar floating freely inside the tube or prevent the outer torsion housing cover plate from seating flush against the chassis.
