🏁 Racing Drivetrain & Installation Notes
Deploying an ultra-long 30" 33-spline axle with dome ends requires meticulous setup to avoid catastrophic drivetrain failure:
❌ Why the 1/2 Dome Matters: In extreme-travel suspension setups, the axle constantly plunges in and out of the CV joint. Standard flat-cut axle ends can slam hard into the CV grease caps at full compression, cracking the caps or fracturing the axle tip. The 1/2 dome design safely deflects off internal surfaces, smoothly navigating extreme suspension articulation.
❌ Critical Plunge & Cycle Check: You must mock up the drivetrain and cycle the suspension from full droop to full bump without the CV boots installed. Verify that the axle maintains at least 3/8" of lateral "plunge" (free play) at the absolute tightest point of the suspension arc. If the axle bottoms out completely, it will punch straight through your transaxle side-covers or crush the wheel bearings.
