SKU 32700

Category: Porsche 934 Custom Axles

The 32700 series is an elite, high-strength drivetrain solution engineered specifically for Porsche 934 racing applications, factory restorations, and ultra-high-horsepower custom builds. Stepping up from the standard 930 platforms, these axles feature an oversized 33-spline design. This configuration is engineered to efficiently transfer the massive, aggressive torque curves of turbocharged vintage race engines and heavy-duty transaxles without the risk of shearing or spline deformation.

Performance & Fitment

    • Application: Porsche 934 race cars, specialized vintage Group 4 restorations, and custom high-horsepower transaxle builds.

    • Spline Count: 33 Teeth. This oversized spline profile provides a massive increase in surface area and shear strength over standard 28-spline 930 components, making it ideal for high-boost racing applications.

    • Design: Solid Axle Profile. Engineered to serve as a robust mechanical link that handles intense side-loading and violent acceleration.

    • Compatibility: Designed to integrate with heavy-duty Porsche 934-style CV joints.

  • Premium Construction

    • Material: High-Strength Solid Alloy Steel. Forged from premium racing-grade steel alloys to ensure exceptional tensile strength, minimal deflection, and maximum fatigue resistance under grueling race conditions.

    • Precision Machining: CNC-machined to exact motorsports tolerances. The 33-spline ends are precision-cut to guarantee maximum face contact with the CV star, minimizing backlash and drivetrain "chatter."

    • Advanced Heat Treatment: Through-hardened and meticulously tempered to achieve the ultimate balance between surface hardness (to prevent spline wear) and core flexibility (to safely absorb drivetrain shock).

  • 🏁 Racing Drivetrain & Installation Notes

Deploying a 33-spline Porsche 934 axle setup requires careful attention to drivetrain setup to ensure maximum reliability on the track:

  • ❌ Torque Absorption: Even with its heavy-duty solid profile, this alloy steel axle is engineered to provide a calculated amount of torsional flex. This slight twist absorbs the brutal shock-loading of hard gear changes and aggressive launches, protecting your expensive transaxle gears from shattering.

  • ❌ Critical Suspension Cycle & Plunge Check: Prior to final track installation, completely remove the CV boots and cycle the rear suspension from full compression (bump) to full extension (droop). Verify that the axle maintains a minimum of 1/4" of "plunge" (clearance) at the absolute tightest point of the suspension arc. If the axle bottoms out, it will act as a battering ram, punching through CV caps or cracking the transaxle casing.

  • ❌ High-Pressure Lubrication: Always coat the 33-spline ends with a premium, high-pressure Molybdenum (Moly) racing grease or high-grade anti-seize during assembly. This prevents the CV star from galling or "cold welding" to the axle due to the extreme heat and pressure generated during extended track sessions.

  • ❌ Component Matching: To maximize the benefits of the 32700 series, ensure your CV joints, internal cages, and drive flanges are upgraded to match the 33-spline requirement. Running premium axles with sub-par or worn CV stars will create a weak link that compromises the entire drivetrain.

  • ❌ Micro-Fracture Inspection: In professional racing environments, it is highly recommended to periodically pull the axles for a dye-penetrant or Magnaflux inspection at the end of each season to catch any microscopic surface stress fractures before they can cause a catastrophic track failure.
