🛠️ Off-Road Setup & Tech Tips

Choosing the right torsion bar is a balance between comfort and control:

• ❌ The 30% Rule: A 26mm bar offers a noticeably firmer ride. This is perfect for cars that have been converted to "Baja" style with larger tires or for vehicles carrying additional weight like a larger engine or a fuel cell.

• ❌ Spline Count Verification: Ensure your spring plates and inner torsion housing match the VW standard spline count. Always clean and deburr your internal splines before installation to prevent binding.

• ❌ Lubrication: Liberally coat the splines with a high-pressure moly-based grease during installation. This prevents the bars from seizing in the housing or spring plates, which makes future ride-height adjustments much easier.

• ❌ Directional Installation: Pay close attention to the end markings. Torsion bars are often directional due to the factory presetting process. Installing them on the wrong side can lead to premature sagging or failure.

• ❌ Sold as a Pair: For consistent handling and even ride height, torsion bars should always be replaced in matched pairs.
