Torsion Bar – Sprint Car – 30" Long – Tubular – 1.050 Rate – Right Front Or Left Rear
Performance & Fitment
Application: Sprint Car (Winged or Non-Wing)
Position: Right Front (RF) or Left Rear (LR)
Rate: 1.050
Length: 30”
Construction: Tubular (Hollow). By utilizing a large-diameter hollow design, this bar achieves massive resistance while maintaining a faster "rebound speed" than solid alternatives, helping the tire return to the track surface more quickly after hitting ruts or bumps.
Tuning Profile: * As a Left Rear bar: This is an aggressive choice for heavy, "hooked-up" tracks where you need to keep the car "up on the bars" to prevent the chassis from burying or dragging the frame during high-torque exits.
As a Right Front bar: It provides an ultra-stiff foundation to eliminate front-end roll, which is critical for maintaining aerodynamic wing efficiency and steering precision at high speeds.
Material: Manufactured from high-strength, aircraft-grade alloy steel, through-hardened for maximum torsional resilience and extreme fatigue resistance.
Precision Manufacturing: Centerless ground to a strict 1.050" tolerance. This ensures uniform wall thickness—mandatory for a tubular bar to provide a perfectly linear and repeatable spring rate across its entire service life.
Heat Treatment: Advanced processing maximizes "memory" retention, ensuring the bar returns to its original index night after night and resists sagging under the immense loads of a competitive sprint car.
Finish: Precision-machined splines ensure a zero-play interface with your torsion arms and stops for instant chassis feedback.
❌ Maximum Tube Clearance: At 1.050", this bar is at the physical limit of what standard torsion tubes can accommodate. Your chassis tubes must be perfectly straight and surgically clean. Any internal rust, mud, or a slight chassis tweak will cause the bar to bind. A binding 1.050" bar will result in a "zero-travel" suspension, causing the car to bounce uncontrollably or "skate" across the surface.
❌ Shock Valving Requirements: The 1.050" rate has an incredibly high return frequency. You must ensure your shocks (specifically rebound) are valved heavily enough to control this bar. Without proper damping, the car will "pogo" off the corners, destroying traction.
❌ Internal Bore Care: Hollow bars are susceptible to internal corrosion from trapped moisture, which can lead to sudden stress fractures. Keep the internal bore clean and lightly oiled or use protective end caps.
❌ Length Verification: This is a 30" tip-to-tip bar. Ensure your chassis is designed for 30" bars; many standard Sprint Cars utilize 29" bars, and some use 31" bars.
❌ Directional Indexing: This bar is indexed specifically for the Right Front or Left Rear. Installing it on the "wrong" side (LF/RR) will cause the bar to yield (sag) almost immediately as it twists against its intended grain.
- ❌ Hardware Stress: The torque generated by a 1.050" bar is immense. Inspect your torsion arms for "egging" or spline wear; the massive loads can shear standard or worn aluminum hardware.
