Torsion Bar - Sprint Car - 30" Long - Tubular - 1.000 Rate - Left Front Or Right Rear
Category: Sprint Car Torsion Bars (Tubular)
Lock down your chassis platform with this heavy-duty 1.000” rate tubular torsion bar. At 30” in length, this bar is the premier choice for modern Sprint Car teams needing maximum resistance to chassis roll on high-bite surfaces or high-banked tracks. The tubular construction provides the massive stiffness of a 1-inch bar while stripping away critical unsprung weight to keep your suspension responsive.
Performance & Fitment
Application: Sprint Car (Winged or Non-Wing)
Position: Left Front (LF) or Right Rear (RR)
Rate: 1.000 (1 inch diameter)
Length: 30”
Construction: Tubular (Hollow). By removing the dead weight of the center core, this bar offers a superior strength-to-weight ratio. This allows the suspension to cycle faster and maintain better tire-to-track contact than a solid bar of the same rate.
Tuning Profile: * As a Right Rear bar: This is a "big-track" bar designed for high-speed half-miles where centrifugal force threatens to bottom out the chassis.
As a Left Front bar: It provides an ultra-stable foundation to keep the nose pinned and maintain critical aerodynamic wing angles.
Premium Construction
Material: Manufactured from high-strength, heat-treated aircraft-grade alloy steel for maximum torsional resilience and structural integrity.
Precision Manufacturing: Centerless ground to a perfect 1.000" diameter. This ensures uniform wall thickness—critical for a tubular bar to maintain a perfectly linear and repeatable spring rate.
Heat Treatment: Through-hardened and pre-stressed to maximize "memory." This ensures the bar returns to its original index and resists the sagging common in lower-grade components.
Finish: Industrial-grade powder coating provides a durable barrier against abrasive track debris and corrosive clay chemicals.
⚠️ Critical Fitment Exceptions
Running a 1.000" rate requires meticulous chassis maintenance and setup verification:
❌ Maximum Tube Clearance: At a full 1.000" diameter, this bar occupies the maximum space inside a standard torsion tube. Your torsion tubes must be perfectly straight and surgically clean. Any internal rust, dirt, or a slight chassis tweak will cause the bar to bind. A binding 1.000" bar will result in a "zero-travel" rear suspension, causing the car to bounce uncontrollably or "skate."
❌ Shock Valving Necessity: The rebound force of a 1.000" bar is immense. You must use a shock with high-speed rebound valving specifically tuned for a 1" bar. Without proper damping, the rear of the car will "pogo," losing tire contact and traction on corner exit.
❌ Internal Bore Care: As a hollow bar, moisture can collect inside. Internal corrosion leads to stress fractures and sudden failure. Keep the internal bore clean and lightly lubricated or use end caps.
❌ Length Verification: This is a 30" tip-to-tip bar. Ensure your chassis is designed for 30" bars; many standard Sprint Cars utilize 29" bars.
❌ Directional Indexing: This bar is indexed specifically for the Left Front or Right Rear. Installing it on the "wrong" side (RF/LR) will cause the bar to yield (sag) almost immediately as it twists against its intended grain.
❌ Hardware Integrity: Inspect your torsion arms for "egging" or spline wear. Worn aluminum arms will strip quickly under the massive loads this bar provides.
