⚠️ Critical Fitment Exceptions

Operating at a 0.975" rate requires precise maintenance and chassis prep:

  • ❌ Settling & Ride Height: Because this bar is non-prestressed, it is more likely to "take a set" (settle) during its first few heat cycles compared to a pre-stressed bar. Monitor your ride heights and torsion stop angles closely during the initial night of racing.

  • ❌ Internal Bore Care: Hollow bars are susceptible to internal rust from trapped moisture, which can lead to sudden stress fractures. Keep the internal bore clean and lightly oiled, or ensure it is properly capped.

  • ❌ Critical Tube Clearance: At 0.975", this bar occupies a large volume inside the torsion tube. Your chassis tubes must be perfectly straight and surgically clean. Any internal binding will "lock" the suspension, resulting in a dangerously erratic handling car that skips or "skates" across the track.

  • ❌ Rebound Control: The 0.975" rate generates significant "snap" on rebound. Ensure your shock valving (specifically rebound) is heavy enough to control this rate; otherwise, the car will "pogo" and lose traction on corner exit.

  • ❌ Length Verification: This is a 30" tip-to-tip bar. Ensure your chassis is designed for 30" bars; many standard Sprint Cars utilize 29" bars, while others use 31".

  • ❌ Hardware Stress: The torque generated by a 0.975" bar is immense. Inspect your torsion arms and stops for any "egging" or spline wear, as the loads can shear or strip standard aluminum hardware.
