Torsion Bar - Sprint Car - 30" Long - Tubular - .975 Rate - Right Front Or Left Rear
Performance & Fitment
Application: Sprint Car (Winged or Non-Wing)
Position: Right Front (RF) or Left Rear (LR)
Rate: 0.975
Diameter: 0.975”
Length: 30”
Construction: Tubular (Hollow). By removing the inactive center core, this bar provides superior rebound speed compared to a solid bar. This allows the suspension to react instantly to track ruts, maintaining a more consistent tire contact patch.
Tuning Profile: * As a Left Rear bar: The 0.975" tubular is a "stump-puller" for high-bite conditions. It provides the massive resistance needed to keep the car "up on the bars," preventing the chassis from over-rotating or "burying" the left side on heavy tracks.
As a Right Front bar: It serves as an ultra-stiff foundation to eliminate front-end roll, critical for maintaining aerodynamic wing efficiency at high speeds.
Material: Manufactured from heat-treated, aircraft-grade alloy steel (4340) for maximum torsional resilience and structural integrity.
Precision Manufacturing: Centerless ground to a strict 0.975" tolerance. This ensures perfectly uniform wall thickness, which is mandatory for a tubular bar to provide a repeatable and predictable spring rate.
Heat Treatment: Through-hardened and pre-stressed to maximize "memory" retention, ensuring the bar returns to its original index and resists sagging over time.
Finish: Industrial powder coating provides a durable barrier against the abrasive and corrosive nature of track clay and moisture.
❌ Critical Tube Clearance: At 0.975", this bar is physically very thick. Your chassis torsion tubes must be perfectly straight and surgically clean. Any internal mud, rust, or a slight chassis tweak will cause the bar to bind. A binding bar creates an erratic "infinite" spring rate that will make the car "skate" or bicycle unexpectedly.
❌ Shock Valving Necessity: The rebound "snap" of a 0.975" bar is significant. You must ensure your shocks have enough rebound damping to control the bar’s return frequency, otherwise, the car will "pogo" and lose traction on corner exit.
❌ Internal Bore Maintenance: Because the bar is hollow, moisture can collect inside. Internal corrosion leads to stress fractures and sudden failure. Keep the internal bore clean and lightly lubricated or use end caps.
❌ Length Verification: This is a 30" tip-to-tip bar. Ensure your chassis is designed for 30" bars; many standard Sprint Cars utilize 29" bars, while others use 31".
- ❌ Directional Indexing: This bar is indexed specifically for the Right Front or Left Rear. Installing it on the "wrong" side (LF/RR) will cause the bar to yield (sag) almost immediately as it twists against its intended grain.
