Torsion Bar - Sprint Car - 30" Long - Tubular - .950 Rate
Performance & Fitment
Application: Sprint Car (Winged or Non-Wing)
Position: Left Front (LF) or Right Rear (RR)
Rate: 0.950
Diameter: 0.950”
Length: 30”
Construction: Tubular (Hollow). This design removes the inactive center core, allowing the bar to react faster to track ruts and undulations compared to a solid bar of the same rate.
Tuning Profile: * As a Right Rear bar: The 0.950" tubular is a "stump-puller" rate for heavy, high-bite tracks. It provides the massive resistance needed to keep the chassis from bottoming out during high-speed cornering.
As a Left Front bar: It serves as a very firm option to minimize front-end dive and maintain critical aerodynamic wing angles on high-speed half-miles.
Material: Manufactured from high-strength alloy steel, through-hardened for maximum torsional resilience and resistance to fatigue.
Precision Manufacturing: Centerless ground to maintain strict diameter tolerances. This ensures that every bar provides the exact same spring rate, allowing for predictable chassis adjustments.
Heat Treatment: Advanced processing maximizes "memory" retention, preventing the bar from sagging or "taking a set" during long features.
Finish: Features precision-machined splines for a tight, zero-play interface with your torsion arms and stops.
❌ Length Verification: This is a 30" tip-to-tip bar. Many standard Sprint Car chassis utilize 29" bars. Ensure your torsion tubes and arm spacing are specifically designed for the 30" length before installation.
❌ Internal Bore Care: Tubular bars are hollow; moisture trapped inside can lead to internal rust and stress fractures. To prevent sudden failure, it is highly recommended to keep the internal bore clean and lightly lubricated or use end caps.
❌ Critical Tube Clearance: At 0.950", this bar is physically thick. Your chassis torsion tubes must be perfectly straight and surgically clean. Any internal binding will "lock" the suspension, leading to a dangerously erratic handling car that skips or "skates" across the track.
❌ Directional Indexing: This bar is indexed specifically for the Left Front or Right Rear. Installing it on the "wrong" side (RF/LR) will cause the bar to yield (sag) almost immediately as it would be twisting against its intended grain.
- ❌ Rebound Control: The 0.950" rate has a high return frequency. Ensure your shock valving (specifically rebound) is heavy enough to control the "snap" of the bar to prevent the car from "pogoing" out of corners.
