Torsion Bar - Sprint Car - 30" Long - Tubular - .925 Rate - Not Prestressed
Performance & Fitment
Application: Sprint Car (Winged or Non-Wing)
Length: 30”
Diameter: 0.925”
Type: Tubular (Hollow). By removing the center material, this bar provides the stiffness of a large-diameter bar with significantly less unsprung weight, improving tire-to-track contact.
Rate: 0.925
Non-Prestressed: This bar has not been pre-twisted in a specific direction during manufacturing. This makes it omni-directional, allowing it to be used on the Left or Right side of the car without a dedicated rotational direction.
Tuning Profile: A 0.925" tubular bar is a versatile "mid-range" rate. It is a common choice for the Right Rear on medium-slick tracks or for the Left Rear to help the car "get up on the bars" in heavier conditions.
Material: Manufactured from high-strength alloy steel for maximum torsional resilience and long-term durability.
Precision Manufacturing: Centerless ground to ensure a perfectly consistent outside diameter and wall thickness, resulting in a predictable and repeatable spring rate.
Heat Treatment: Advanced through-hardening maximizes the steel's structural integrity, allowing for high torsional cycles without premature fatigue.
Spline Quality: Precision-machined splines ensure a tight, no-slop interface with your torsion arms and stops for immediate chassis response.
❌ Natural "Set" and Break-In: Because this bar is non-prestressed, it is more likely to "take a set" (drop in ride height) after the first few heat cycles compared to a pre-stressed bar. You must monitor your ride heights closely during the first night of racing and adjust your torsion stops accordingly.
❌ Internal Corrosion: As a tubular bar, moisture can collect inside the hollow bore. Internal rust can lead to stress risers and sudden failure. It is highly recommended to keep the internal bore clean and lightly oiled or capped.
❌ Length Verification: This is a 30" tip-to-tip bar. Ensure your chassis is designed for 30" bars; many standard Sprint Car chassis utilize 29" bars. Installing a 30" bar in a 29" tube will result in incorrect arm spacing and potential binding.
❌ Critical Tube Clearance: At 0.925", ensure your chassis torsion tubes are perfectly straight and free of debris. Any internal contact will "lock" the suspension, leading to a dangerously erratic handling car that skips across the track surface.
- ❌ Solid vs. Tubular Rate: A 0.925" tubular bar is softer than a 0.925" solid bar. If you are switching from a solid bar, you will need to adjust your setup to account for the softer effective wheel rate.
