TORSION BAR, FLIP-PAC CAMPER, 60 3/16" LONG X .615” DIA, 23 TOOTH ENDS
Performance & Fitment
Application: Flip-Pac Camper (direct replacement for the primary lifting bar)
Length: 60 3/16”
Spline Count: 23-tooth ends
Tuning Profile: This bar is designed to match or slightly exceed the original factory lifting force, ensuring that the heavy camper shell remains manageable during deployment while offering a significantly longer fatigue life.
Material: Manufactured from Solid 4340 Aircraft Alloy Steel, a material chosen for its incredible "spring" memory and resistance to snapping under load.
Manufacturing: CNC machined for precise spline engagement and centerless ground to ensure there are no surface imperfections that could lead to stress fractures.
Heat Treatment: Advanced through-hardening process allows the bar to handle the high-torque "twist" required to flip the camper shell without losing its indexed shape.
Finish: Silver powder-coated for superior protection against the elements, preventing the rust and pitting that typically cause factory bars to fail.
❌ Extreme Tension Hazard: The torsion bar is under immense load when the camper is closed. Never attempt to remove or adjust the bar without following the specific Flip-Pac safety procedures and using the correct unloading tools. Serious injury can occur if the tension is released uncontrollably.
❌ Directional Loading: These bars are often "indexed" during installation. Ensure you are installing the bar in the correct orientation to provide the upward lift-assist required.
❌ Spline Alignment: Before final installation, ensure your 23-tooth splines and the receiving sockets are completely clean and free of old debris. Applying a small amount of anti-seize can help prevent the bar from becoming "frozen" in the sockets over time.
❌ Length Verification: While 60 3/16” is the standard for most Flip-Pac units, some custom or early-production shells may vary. Double-check your existing bar length before ordering.
- ❌ Inspect the "Socks": When replacing the bar, always inspect the mounting "socks" or brackets on the camper. If these brackets are cracked or the mounting holes are wallowed out, the new high-strength bar may cause further damage or fail to function correctly.

⚠️ Critical Fitment & Installation Warnings
Replacing a Flip-Pac torsion bar is a high-tension task. Please review these critical safety points before installation:
What’s Included
- One torsion bar
Warranty
Backed by a 1-year warranty for peace of mind.
Note: Retaining the factory torsion bar tube is recommended for safety due to stored energy when loaded. If using the tube, drilling a 1/4” hole at each end can help with ventilation and prevent water buildup.
