Torsion Bar - Sprint Car - 29" Long - Tubular - 1.000 Rate - Not Prestressed
Performance & Fitment
Application: Sprint Car (Winged or Non-Wing)
Length: 29”
Diameter: 1.000”
Type: Tubular (Hollow). By removing the dead weight of a solid core, this bar offers the massive spring rate of a 1-inch diameter while allowing the suspension to cycle faster and maintain better tire-to-track contact.
Rate: 1.000
Non-Prestressed: This bar has not been pre-twisted in a specific direction. This makes it omni-directional, allowing it to be used on either the Left Rear or Right Rear position. It provides a more natural, predictable "break-in" for tuners who want a bar that isn't "pre-loaded" toward one side.
Tuning Profile: A 1.000" tubular bar is a heavy-duty tuning tool. It is typically used on the Right Rear for high-speed, high-bite tracks to keep the chassis from bottoming out, or as a "stump-puller" Left Rear bar for non-wing cars needing maximum hike control.
Material: Manufactured from high-strength alloy steel, heat-treated to ensure maximum torsional resilience and a long fatigue life.
Precision Manufacturing: Centerless ground to a strict 1.000" tolerance. This level of precision is vital for a tubular bar to ensure uniform wall thickness and a consistent spring rate.
Finish: Coated with a durable powder finish to protect against the abrasive impacts of track debris and corrosive dirt chemicals.
Spline Integrity: Precision-machined splines ensure a tight, no-slop fit with torsion arms and stops, providing immediate suspension feedback.
❌ Natural "Set" and Break-In: Because this bar is non-prestressed, it is susceptible to "taking a set" (dropping slightly in ride height) after its initial heat cycles. You must monitor your chassis heights closely during hot laps and the first heat race to re-adjust your torsion stops.
❌ Internal Bore Care: Tubular bars are hollow; moisture trapped inside can lead to internal rust and stress fractures. To prevent sudden failure, keep the internal bore clean and lightly lubricated or use end caps.
❌ Critical Tube Clearance: A 1.000" bar occupies nearly all the space inside a standard torsion tube. Your chassis tubes must be perfectly straight and free of any debris. Any internal binding will "lock" the suspension, leading to a dangerously erratic or "skating" car.
❌ Shock Valving: The rebound snap of a 1.000" rate is significant. Ensure your shocks are valved with enough rebound control to prevent the car from "pogoing" or bouncing after hitting a rut.
- ❌ Length Check: This is a 29" tip-to-tip bar. Verify your chassis requirements, as some newer-style Sprint Cars or Modifieds utilize 30" or 31" bars.
