TORSION BAR – DIRT MODIFIED – 29" LONG – SOLID – .950 RATE – LEFT REAR
Performance & Fitment
Application: Dirt Modified Race Cars
Position: Left Rear (LR)
Rate: 0.950
Diameter: 0.950"
Length: 29”
Tuning Profile: A 0.950" rate on the Left Rear is an aggressive tuning choice. It is primarily used to stiffen the LR to prevent the car from "bicycling" or over-rotating on high-bite, tacky tracks. This heavier rate helps maintain a stable chassis plane, allowing the suspension to work more efficiently through the center of the corner.
Material: Manufactured from solid high-strength alloy steel, selected for its massive load-bearing capacity and torsional resilience.
Precision Manufacturing: Centerless ground to a strict 0.950" diameter tolerance. This guarantees that your spring rate is consistent across your inventory, ensuring predictable results when you swap bars under pressure.
Heat Treatment: Advanced through-hardening and pre-stressing processes optimize the steel's "memory." This prevents the bar from "taking a set" and dropping the left rear ride height during long features.
Spline Precision: Features precision-machined splines for a tight, slop-free fit with your torsion arms and stops, ensuring immediate chassis response to every driver input.
❌ Position Specificity: While this bar is 29", a 0.950 rate is a very stiff LR option. Using this on the Right Rear by mistake will drastically change the car's roll center and exit traction.
❌ Length Requirements: This is a 29" tip-to-tip bar. It is not compatible with chassis requiring 30" or 31" bars found in some Northeast Modified or Sprint Car designs.
❌ High Binding Risk: At 0.950", this bar occupies a large volume inside the chassis torsion tube. It is vital that your tubes are perfectly straight and clean; any internal contact will "lock" the suspension and cause the car to bounce or slide.
❌ Indexing & Impact: After any significant wall contact or tumble, check the bar for "twist." A bar that has been over-torqued will lose its original index, making it impossible to set accurate corner weights or chassis timing.
- ❌ Arm Integrity: The 0.950" bar generates immense torque. Ensure your torsion arms are not "egged out" or showing signs of spline fatigue. Heavy-rate bars will quickly shear the splines of worn or low-quality aluminum arms.
