TORSION BAR – DIRT MODIFIED – 29" LONG – SOLID – .925 RATE – LEFT REAR
Performance & Fitment
Application: Dirt Modified Race Cars
Position: Left Rear (LR)
Rate: 0.925
Diameter: 0.925"
Length: 29”
Tuning Profile: A 0.925" rate on the Left Rear is a common choice for racers looking to stiffen the LR to prevent the car from over-rotating or "hiking" too aggressively on high-bite tracks. It helps maintain a flatter chassis plane, providing more consistent drive-link geometry.
Material: Solid high-strength alloy steel, selected for its ability to withstand massive torsional loads without yielding.
Precision Manufacturing: Centerless ground to a strict 0.925" diameter tolerance. This guarantees that your spring rate is consistent every time you change bars, removing the guesswork from your pit adjustments.
Heat Treatment: Advanced heat-treating and pre-stressing processes optimize "memory" retention. This prevents the bar from "taking a set" and dropping the left rear ride height mid-race.
Spline Precision: Precision-machined splines ensure a secure, slop-free interface with your torsion arms and stops, providing immediate chassis response.
❌ Left vs. Right Specificity: While this bar is 29", it is rated at .925 specifically for Left Rear tuning strategies. Swapping this with a Right Rear bar of a different rate without adjusting your cross-weight will drastically alter the car's exit handling.
❌ Length Requirements: This is a 29" bar. It is not compatible with chassis designed for 30" or 31" bars commonly found in some newer Northeast Modified designs or Sprint Cars.
❌ Torsion Tube Maintenance: Ensure the internal torsion tube is clear of mud, rust, and debris. At a 0.925" diameter, any internal obstruction can cause the bar to bind, creating an effective "solid" suspension that will cause the car to bounce or slide uncontrollably.
❌ Indexing & Timing: Always check the bar's index after a heavy impact. Even high-strength steel can twist under extreme stress; a "twisted" bar will ruin your corner weights and chassis timing.
- ❌ Spline Mismatch: Ensure your torsion arms are not worn. A 0.925" bar generates significant torque; any play in the splines will lead to rapid wear and potential failure of the bar ends.
