Application: High-retention locking mechanism used to secure the CV joint "star" to the axle shaft.
Design: Features a Spiral Design, which provides 360° of contact surface, offering significantly more holding power than a standard stamped snap ring.
Material: Manufactured from high-strength alloy spring steel for maximum tension and resistance to deformation.
Superior Retention: The spiral (round-wire) design is engineered to sit deeper in the axle groove, making it nearly impossible for the CV joint to "pop" off during extreme suspension travel or high-RPM operation.
Precision Engineering: Designed with specific tolerances to match the groove depth of 930-style performance axles, ensuring a vibration-free, secure fit.
Durability: Heat-treated to maintain constant tension even in high-heat environments common in off-road racing and turbocharged street applications.
❌ Standard VW Splines: This hardware is designed for the 28-tooth 930 spline. It is not compatible with standard Volkswagen Type 1 (33-spline) or Type 2/002 (33-spline) axle shafts.
❌ Square-Groove Axles: Ensure your axle is machined for a spiral/round-wire clip. If your axle is machined specifically for a flat, stamped snap ring, this spiral clip may not seat correctly, leading to potential failure.
- ❌ Reusing Old Hardware: Never reuse a spiral ring that has been removed. Once expanded for removal, the metal can fatigue; always use fresh SKU 2411 hardware whenever a CV joint is serviced to ensure the safety of your drivetrain.
