- Application: Custom High-Performance IRS Rear Axles
- Spline: 33-Tooth (Standard VW/Porsche Spline)
Design: Optimized for high-articulation off-road use and high-horsepower street applications.
Compatibility: Engineered to mate perfectly with standard 33-spline CV joints, such as the Type 1 (94mm), Type 2/002 (100mm), or 930/944 (108mm) styles.
Custom Sizing: Available in specific diameters and lengths to meet unique chassis requirements, ensuring that the axle "plunge" remains within the safe operating range of the CV joint.
Material: Manufactured from solid alloy steel, providing a much higher yield strength than standard carbon steel axles. This allow the shafts to handle the high-torque loads of modified engines without permanent twisting.
Precision Engineering: Every axle is CNC-machined and centerless ground. This ensures a perfectly consistent outer diameter and a smooth surface finish, which is critical for preventing "stress risers" that can lead to snapping under heavy load.
Durability: Heat-treated to enhance core toughness and surface hardness, ensuring a long service life in harsh environments.
Fitment: Specifically designed to ensure a secure, "slop-free" interface with the 33-tooth CV stars, reducing vibration and wear on the splines.
Measurement is King: When ordering custom axles, you must measure the distance between your transaxle drive flange and your hub flange while the suspension is at its narrowest point (usually when the trailing arm is horizontal).
CV Float: Similar to our other performance axles, these are designed to allow the CV to "float" on the splines. This prevents the axle from acting as a "hammer" against the transmission internals during hard suspension compression.
- Grease & Maintenance: Always use high-moly CV grease. Because custom applications often involve higher-than-stock angles, superior lubrication is the only thing protecting your CV cages from overheating.
