• • VW Type 1 (Beetle/Bug): Exclusively for "Super Baja" or Trophy-lite style builds with heavily modified suspension geometry.

  • Compatibility: Designed for high-performance 33-spline CV joints (Type 1, 924/944, or 002/091 Bus styles).

Premium Construction

• • Material: Forged from solid 4340 aircraft-grade alloy steel. This material is essential at this length to resist the high torsional "twist" and leverage generated by massive tires and high-horsepower engines.

  • Floating Spline Design: By removing the inboard shoulder, the CV joint is free to "float" along the 2 3/8" spline.

  • CV Protection: Long-travel suspensions experience a massive change in the distance between the transaxle and the wheel hub. The floating design prevents the axle from "punching" through the CV cage at full compression, which is the #1 cause of axle failure in the dirt.

  • Heat Treatment: Through-hardened and shot-peened for maximum fatigue resistance.

  • Finish: Centerless ground for a precision diameter and powder-coated for protection against harsh sand and mud environments.

⚠️ Critical Installation & Setup Notes

• Mandatory Suspension Cycling: At 20 1/4", these axles are extremely long. You must remove your shocks and cycle the suspension through its entire range of motion. If the axle bottom out against the transaxle flange at any point, it will cause catastrophic internal gearbox damage.

• High-Angle CV Joints: With an axle this long, you are likely pushing the limits of CV joint angles. Ensure you are using high-angle "race" CV joints (like 930 or 934 styles if adapted) that can handle the vertical travel without binding.

• Boot Selection: Use high-articulation silicone or heavy-duty racing boots. Standard rubber will not survive the stretching and compression cycles required by a 20 1/4" axle setup.

• Lubrication: Use a premium high-moly grease. The floating action requires the splines to stay slick to prevent "notching" or seizing under high torque loads.
