The ultimate front suspension foundation for the AWD Chevy Astro and GMC Safari. These solid 1.087" torsion bars provide a 10% increase in spring rate over factory units. This targeted upgrade is ideal for camper conversions, overlanding builds, or vans equipped with oversized tires, as it provides better load support and stability without sacrificing the comfortable ride quality these vans are known for.

  • Application: Front Torsion Bar Set Diameter: 1.087" Length: 34.75" Spring Rate: +10% over OEM Adjustment: Features a splined end for virtually infinite ride height indexing.

    • Chevrolet Astro AWD: 1990 through 2005

    • GMC Safari AWD: 1990 through 2005

    • Note: Specifically designed for the All-Wheel Drive (AWD) chassis. These bars include a new splined key to replace the factory hex key, allowing for much finer adjustment of the front ride height.

    • Manufacturing: Centerless ground to a precise 1.087" diameter to ensure a perfectly linear spring rate and a smooth surface finish.

    • ⚠️ Critical Fitment Exceptions

    Even if your vehicle falls into the year ranges above, you must ensure it does not fall under these exceptions:

  • ❌ RWD Models: This SKU is strictly for AWD models. Rear-Wheel Drive Astro and Safari vans utilize a coil spring front suspension and do not have torsion bars.

  • ❌ Heavy Armored Builds: While a 10% increase is great for a light camper or daily driver, if you have added a heavy steel bumper and a winch, you may require a thicker bar to maintain proper suspension travel.

  • ❌ First-Generation (Pre-1990): While some 1989 models featured AWD, verify your production month and bar length. This 34.75" bar is the standard for the 1990–2005 AWD platform.
