Torsion Bar Set - '88-'04 Chevy Suburban 4WD & '01-'03 GMC Yukon 2WD
Performance & Fitment
- Application: Front Torsion Bar Set Diameter: 1.45" (Ultra Heavy-Duty) Length: 52.00" Spring Rate: +20% to +30% over OEM
Chevrolet Suburban 4WD: 1988 through 2004
GMC Yukon XL 2500 2WD/4WD: 2000 through 2004
GMC Yukon XL 1500 2WD: 2001 through 2003
Note: Fits models utilizing the 52.00" bar length. This specific SKU is designed for the heavy-duty requirements of the long-wheelbase SUV chassis.
Material: Solid high-strength alloy steel, selected for its extreme fatigue resistance and "torsional memory" under heavy loads.
Manufacturing: Centerless ground to a precise 1.45" diameter to ensure a perfectly linear spring rate and remove surface micro-imperfections.
Heat Treatment: Through-hardened and shot-peened to maintain ride height and prevent the front end from "settling" or sagging over time.
Finish: Industrial-grade powder coating for superior protection against road salt and moisture.
❌ 54-Inch Bar Variations: Some GMT400 (1988–1999) 4WD Suburbans utilized a 54" bar (See SKU 1761). You must measure your current torsion bar length end-to-end to verify the 52" requirement.
❌ Light-Duty 1500 4WD (GMT800): While it fits 2WD 1500 Yukon XLs, many 1500 4WD Suburbans from 2000–2004 used different lengths or lighter diameters. These 1.45" bars are very stiff and are primarily intended for 2500-series (3/4 ton) chassis or heavily armored 1500s.
❌ 2005+ Models: Will not fit 2005 and newer GM SUVs, which transitioned to different suspension configurations or updated bar lengths.
- ❌ Z71 / Off-Road Packages: Some specialized trim levels used specific bar lengths. Always verify your vehicle uses the 52" bar before ordering.
