Torsion Bar Set - '88-'97 Chevy Tahoe 4WD
Performance & Fitment
- Application: Front Torsion Bar Set Diameter: 1.35" (Heavy-Duty Upgrade) Length: 54.00" Spring Rate: +20% to +30% over OEM
Chevrolet Tahoe 4WD: 1995 through 1997
Chevrolet/GMC K1500 (4WD): 1988 through 1997
Chevrolet/GMC K2500 (4WD Light Duty): 1988 through 1997
Note: Features a splined end design which allows for infinite clocking/indexing to achieve the desired ride height using the factory adjuster bolt.
Material: Solid high-strength alloy steel, selected for its exceptional fatigue resistance and "torsional memory."
Manufacturing: Centerless ground to a precise 1.35" diameter to ensure a perfectly linear spring rate and remove surface micro-imperfections.
Heat Treatment: Through-hardened and shot-peened to maintain ride height and prevent the front end from "settling" under heavy loads.
Finish: Industrial-grade powder coating for superior protection against road salt and moisture.
❌ 2WD Models: This part is strictly for 4WD models. 2WD Chevy/GMC trucks of this era utilize a coil spring front suspension.
❌ 1998–1999 "Old Body Style" Exceptions: While some GMT400 trucks were sold through 1999, you must verify your bar length. These are 54" bars; some heavy-duty 2500/3500 variants or Suburban models utilized different lengths.
❌ 1999+ Silverado/Tahoe (GMT800): Will not fit the newer body style (round body) trucks. Those models moved to a different torsion bar design and length.
- ❌ Hex-Style Anchors: These bars feature a splined end for adjustment. If your vehicle has been modified with "re-indexed" hex-style keys that do not accept splined bars, they will not be compatible.
