⚠️ Critical Fitment Exceptions
Even if your car falls into the year ranges above, you must ensure it does not fall under these exceptions:
❌ Swing Axle Pre-1969: These bars are specifically for "IRS" (Independent Rear Suspension) models. If your 1968 or older Beetle has a Swing Axle transmission, it utilizes longer 26 11/16” bars which are not compatible with this SKU.
❌ Short-Bar Conversions: Some custom off-road or drag racing chassis are modified to use the shorter 21 3/4" bars found on earlier Swing Axle cars (1960–1968). Ensure your spring plates and housing match the 21 3/4" length before ordering.
❌ Spline Count Verification: While these are standard 40-spline inner/44-spline outer, always verify your spring plate entry. Modified aftermarket spring plates may require different diameters or lengths.
